Conference Carolinas Places Three on USA Lacrosse Magazine's 2023 Division II Men's Preseason All-American List
GREENVILLE, S.C. - USA Lacrosse Magazine announced its 2023 Division II Men’s Preseason All-Americans on Tuesday and three Conference Carolinas student-athletes were honorable mentions.
Mark Crawford of Barton was an honorable mention midfielder, Colin Courtney of North Greenville was an honorable mention long-stick midfielder and Thomas Sullivan of Belmont Abbey was an honorable mention goalie.
Crawford was a 2022 Second Team All-Conference Carolinas selection and earned All-Tournament Team honors. A graduate student from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, Crawford finished the 2022 campaign second in Conference Carolinas in assists (33) and 18th in goals (23) while being ninth in total points with 56.
A redshirt senior from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Courtney was second on the Crusaders squad last season with 20 caused turnovers which tied for fourth-most in the league. He also collected 32 ground balls and anchored a defense that caused 161 turnovers and allowed less than eight goals per game.
Sullivan, a junior from North Babylon, New York, was the 2022 Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference Carolinas and the back-to-back Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team Most Valuable Player. Last season he led Conference Carolinas with a 9.58 goals against average, a .613 save percentage and 14.07 saves per game with 211 total saves on the season.

The Conference Carolinas men’s lacrosse season begins on Saturday, February 4. The men’s lacrosse conference championship will take place April 24, 27 and 29 with the semifinals and finals hosted by Mount Olive.
