Justen Burnette and Jaleal Hamlett of Mount Olive Named Weekly Award Winners for Men's Indoor Track & Field
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Justen Burnette and Jaleal Hamlett of Mount Olive have been chosen as the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas men's indoor track & field for the week ending Jan. 22, 2023.
Burnette has been tabbed as the Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, while Hamlett was selected as the Field Athlete of the Week.
A senior from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Burnette secured a season-best time of 21.92 in the 200 meters. The time is the best in Conference Carolinas so far this indoor season. He also collected the best 60 meters time in the conference so far this indoor season with an NCAA provisional time of 6.83.
A sophomore from Lynchburg, Virginia, Hamlett posted a first-place finish in the triple jump with a season-best distance of 14.20 meters on his second attempt at the Finn Pincus Invitational. The mark is tops in Conference Carolinas in the event so far this indoor season.
