Katy Neubert of King and Phoebe Myers of Converse Earn Women’s Indoor Track and Field Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Katy Neubert of King and Phoebe Myers of Converse were selected as the Conference Carolinas weekly award winners for women’s indoor track and field for the week ending Jan. 22.
Neubert was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week, while Myers earned Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
A senior from Johnson City, Tennessee, Neubert won the 800m at the COROS Collegiate Challenge with a time of 2:24.63 and also placed 18th in the mile with a time of 5:43.48. Her 800m time is first in the league and second in the Southeast Region while her time in the mile ranks 11th this season in Conference Carolinas and 33rd in the region.
This weekend at the Finn Pincus Invitational Myers finished second overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m (5-2.25) and finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.94. The junior from Cambria Heights, New York leads Conference Carolinas in both events and is ranked third in the 60m hurdles and sixth in the high jump in the Southeast Region. Her high jump mark was a season-best and program record while her 60m hurdles time was a personal-best.
