Mount Olive Expected to Three-Peat as Women’s Lacrosse Champions in Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The women’s lacrosse coaches have picked Mount Olive to repeat as conference champions in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll announced on Jan. 31.
The Trojans, who were a perfect 9-0 in league play last season, garnered 80 points and 8-of-10 first-place votes to edge 2022 runner-up Belmont Abbey who collected 74 points and the two remaining first-place nods. Barton was picked third with 63 points and North Greenville was fourth with 59 points.
Emmanuel was selected fifth with 48 points followed by Southern Wesleyan (32), Lees-McRae (30), Chowan (29), Converse (25) and Erskine (10).
The regular season begins on Saturday, Feb. 4 with the conference championship set to get underway on April 25. The semifinals and finals of the championship will be played on April 28 and April 30 at Barton in Wilson, North Carolina.
