Men’s Soccer Developmental Championship Preview
GREENVILLE, S.C.– The Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Developmental Championship kicks off on Monday, Oct. 16 with preliminary rounds at Mount Olive and North Greenville and the championship final to be hosted by Barton on Monday, Oct. 23.
The championship, which is a unique championship opportunity for developmental teams within Conference Carolinas, features seven teams competing at the two preliminary round sites. Mount Olive will host Barton and Francis Marion while North Greenville welcomes Belmont Abbey, Converse and King.
In Mount Olive, North Carolina, the host Trojans will face Barton in the first match at 1 p.m. and will then square off with Francis Marion at 3 p.m. The final contest will feature Barton and Francis Marion. All three matches will be 60 minutes in length and the champion of the round-robin bracket will face the North Greenville champion on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. for the championship final.
In Tigerville, South Carolina, Converse will face the host Crusaders in match one at 1 p.m. followed by Belmont Abbey and King in match two at 3 p.m. The consolation match will take place at 5 p.m. with the bracket final to follow at 7 p.m. Each match will be 60 minutes in length with the bracket champion advancing to Wilson, North Carolina to face the Mount Olive bracket winner on Monday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. It will be a 90 minute contest.

In the 2023-24 season Conference Carolinas is scheduled to host a developmental championship in men’s soccer, men’s wrestling, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s volleyball and baseball. The developmental teams will be composed of student-athletes that have either not competed at the varsity level in 2023-24 or have competed sparingly at the varsity level by the time of the championship.
