KANSAS CITY, Mo. - United Soccer Coaches announced its College Player of the Week awards on Wednesday afternoon and Taylor Stubbs of King was named NCAA Division II Player of the Week. Stubbs is the second Conference Carolinas women’s soccer student-athlete to earn national honors this year after Belmont Abbey’s Logan Parry earned the honor on Sept. 6.

A senior forward from Murrieta, California, Taylor Stubbs of King posted the single-game performance of the 2023 season thus far in league play with nine total points on four goals and one assist in the 6-3 rivalry home win over Lees-McRae on Sept. 27.

The nine points secured by Stubbs on the day set the new King NCAA single-game mark in the category and her four goals tied her with Kara Garrett and Kendyl Baird for the most goals in a single game in the NCAA era (since 2010) for the Tornado.

Stubbs is presently second in Conference Carolinas in points (13) and goals (six) in conference play. She is tied for third overall in Conference Carolinas in all matches with eight goals.
