Conference Carolinas Tuesday Weekly Award Winners

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Ella Froehlich, King

    A freshman forward from Sunbury, OhioElla Froehlich of King tied for the most points in Conference Carolinas last week with six on two goals and two assists. 

    In King’s 3-2 home conference win over Belmont Abbey, Froehlich scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the 66th minute off an assist from Taylor Stubbs. She also assisted on the two other goals in the King conference win. Froehlich also had a goal in King’s home conference match with Chowan. 

    Froehlich is presently tied for sixth in conference matches in Conference Carolinas with 12 points on five goals and two assists.  

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Elainee Sprinkle, North Greenville

    A senior defender from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Elainee Sprinkle of North Greenville has claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. 

    Sprinkle was a key part of a defensive group for North Greenville that did not allow a goal last week. In fact, North Greenville has yet to surrender a goal in the month of October and has not had a goal scored against them since Wednesday, Sept. 27. Sprinkle and the North Greenville defense allowed only five shots this past week with just two of the five shots on frame in league wins over Erskine and Southern Wesleyan. 

    Sprinkled logged all 180 minutes in both wins and leads all North Greenville players with 834 minutes played. She has three goals on the season.

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Davis McBee, Belmont Abbey

    A graduate student from Gastonia, North Carolina, Davis McBee of Belmont Abbey collected a league week-best six points on one goal and four assists last week. 

    McBee started last week by scoring once and dishing out three assists in Belmont Abbey’s 7-0 league road win at King. He followed that up by picking up an assist in Belmont Abbey’s home conference match with Barton. 

    McBee currently leads all in Conference Carolinas with nine assists. He has picked up a league-best six of the nine assists in conference play. 

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Sacha De Corte, Young Harris

    A sophomore defender from Vlezenbeek, Belgium, Sacha De Corte of Young Harris was pivotal for a Young Harris defense that did not allow a goal last week in two conference matches. 

    De Corte and Young Harris bent but did not break in an impressive 2-0 road conference win at Converse. Northwest Division-leading Converse finished with a 21-7 shot advantage in the match, but De Corte and the Young Harris defense did not allow a goal to stay atop the Southwest Division. 

    The week closed for De Corte and the Mountain Lions with Young Harris limiting Erskine to just two shots in a 3-0 conference home win. De Corte also assisted on the third and final goal by Jamie Lapsley in the 61st minute. 

    De Corte is second on the Young Harris team with 859 minutes played.
