Mount Olive Picked to Edge UNC Pembroke for 10th Men’s Indoor Track and Field Title in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C.The Conference Carolinas men’s indoor track & field head coaches picked Mount Olive to win an eighth consecutive and 10th overall conference championship in the 2023-24 preseason poll released on Tuesday. 

The Trojans collected 97 points and seven-of-11 first-place votes to edge 2023 conference runner-up UNC Pembroke who received 92 points and the final four first-place nods. North Greenville was picked third with 75 points while Belmont Abbey was fourth with 71 points and Southern Wesleyan was picked fifth with 62 points.

Lees-McRae earned 49 points to take the sixth spot and was followed by Emmanuel (41), Converse and Erksine (36), Barton (32) and King (14).

The 2024 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on February 18-19 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
