Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Duo Named Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) released its 2023 All-Southeast Region women’s volleyball team on Wednesday and two Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized.
Vanja Przulj of UNC Pembroke earned first team recognition while Abigail Durahm of North Greenville was named to the second team.
Przulj, a Conference Carolinas All-Conference first team and All-Tournament team honoree, led the Braves to the East division regular season crown and a runner-up conference tournament finish. The 6-foot senior outside hitter from Belgrade, Serbia, finished the season leading the league in kills (566), kills per set (4.68), points (639), total service aces (57) and points per set (5.28).
Durham, the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year for the third straight season, finished the season second in kills (472), kills per set (4.45), points (535.5) and points per set (5.05). The 6-foot senior right side from Easley, South Carolina was also ninth in attack percentage at .270.
The D2 CCA Player of the Year award and all-region teams are nominated and selected by the region’s sports information directors.
The D2 CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
The seven members of the All-Southeast Region first team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released Wednesday, Dec. 6. The complete All-Southeast region team is available here.
