Conference Carolinas Pair Named CSC Academic All-America
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The 2023 Academic All-America® Men’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Two Conference Carolinas student-athletes earned laurels.
Davis McBee of Belmont Abbey earned first team honors while Harri Lovett of Chowan was named to the second team.
McBee, the 2023 Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, has a 3.66 grade point average as a business management graduate student. A midfielder from Gastonia, North Carolina, McBee was also a third team D2 CCA All-American and first team D2 CCA All-Region selection. McBee finished with a career-best season for The Abbey with five goals and a conference-best 14 assists. The 14 assists were also tied for the best in the nation following the end of the regular season.
Lovett, a graduate student from Wrexham, Wales, has a 3.98 GPA in organizational leadership. One of only two CSC All-America repeat selections and the only Division II men’s soccer student-athlete to earn the honor for three straight seasons, Lovett led the Hawks defense this season which finished second in the league with 1.11 goals allowed per game and finished third on the team with four assists. He helped Chowan to the 2023 Conference Carolinas men’s soccer championship and the team’s second NCAA tournament appearance in three seasons.
The Division II All-America team finished with a 3.86 average GPA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
