GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas continues to own an impressive rate of 76 percent in the latest Academic Success Rates released by NCAA Division II.

The national four-cohort ASR average remained at 76 percent, according to the most recent data. Overall, Division II student-athlete graduation rates and many subgroup rates are at or near their highest-ever levels.

In total, Conference Carolinas had 3,699 of 4,848 enrolled (76 percent) graduate in its latest Academic Success Rate released by NCAA Division II (2013-2016 freshman cohorts).

“The continued success in the ASR percentage for Conference Carolinas speaks volumes about the hard work and efforts being done behind the scenes and in the classroom by our member institutions for many years,” Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “It is always a point of pride in Conference Carolinas that we work to build champions in body, mind and soul. This is just another incredible example that clearly demonstrates that our institutions value having their student-athletes be successful not only in NCAA competition and in the community but also in the classroom.”

The ASR was developed at the request of institution presidents who believed the federal graduation rate was outdated. Division II’s ASR data includes student-athletes who transfer into a school and removes student-athletes who left the school in good academic standing.

Even when using the less-inclusive federal rate, Division II student-athletes outperform the general student body by seven percentage points. The federal rate for Division II student- athletes remained at 60 percent during the time period, while the student body increased by one percent to 53 percent.
