Mia Klammer of Saint Rose Selected as 2023 NCAA Division II Ron Lenz Conference Commissioners Association Women’s Soccer Player of the Year

D2 CCA Women's Soccer All-America Teams

GREENVILLE, S.C.
 – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) unveiled Saint Rose forward Mia Klammer as its 2023 Women’s Soccer Ron Lenz National Player of the Year.
 
Klammer’s honor highlights the D2 CCA Women’s Soccer All-America Teams.
 
The D2 CCA East Region Player of the Year, Klammer finished her exceptional junior season leading the country in total points with 53. The Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year concluded her season with 18 goals and 17 assists. The two-time East Region Player of the Year was also chosen first team all-conference and was recognized on the NE10 All-Tournament Team along with being awarded the Most Value Player award of the conference postseason tournament.
 
Mackenzie Dimarco from Emporia State, Andrea Fernandez from Flagler and Anna Grossheim from UNC Pembroke are now three-time D2 CCA All-America award honorees, while Kate Dirkse from Lee, Sarah Tappeto from Molloy, Klammer and Emma Beddow of Columbus State are now two-time recipients of All-America honors from the D2 CCA.

The first-team consists of seven different NCAA Division II regions with the Southeast leading the way for the second straight year with three selections. The first-team features 12 different institutions with Lenoir-Rhyne picking up two first-team award winners.
 
The Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award was named for long-time South Dakota State Sports Information Director Ron Lenz in 2008. Lenz was instrumental in the foundation of the NCAA Division II All-America program, which honors outstanding student-athletes across eight NCAA Division II sports.
 
Communication professionals from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three D2 CCA All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. A total of 40 student-athletes filled out the three teams.
 
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
 
The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
