Two Conference Carolinas Teams Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas had two institutions under consideration in the first NCAA Southeast Region men’s and women’s basketball rankings, which were released by the NCAA on Wednesday. 

New this year for NCAA Division II sports with regional rankings, schools will be listed as under consideration in alphabetical order for the first ranking of the season.

In the men’s poll UNC Pembroke represented Conference Carolinas while Belmont Abbey is under consideration in the women’s rankings.

The Braves are currently ranked No. 5 nationally by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and own a 24-1 record on the season and are 16-1 in conference play.

The Crusaders received votes in the most recent Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll and are currently 19-4 on the season and 16-1 in league play.

The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
