Eric George of Chowan and Thomas Sullivan of Belmont Abbey Selected Men's Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Eric George of Chowan and Thomas Sullivan of Belmont Abbey picked up the Conference Carolinas weekly lacrosse honors for the week ending Feb. 19, 2023.
George was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Thomas Sullivan picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
A junior on attack from Stony Plain, Alberta in Canada, George scored a career-high nine goals in Chowan's 25-16 road win over future conference rival Shorter on Feb. 18. He also had four assists in the victory. George collected four ground balls in the win. George presently is second in Conference Carolinas goals per game (4.00) and he is first in assists per game (3.00).
A junior goalie from North Babylon, New York, Sullivan saved 15 of Catawba's 16 shots on goal in Belmont Abbey's 7-1 home win over Catawba on Feb. 18. Sullivan presently has the best save percentage in Conference Carolinas at .585. He also owns the best goals against average at 7.33.
