Conference Carolinas Announces 2023 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke repeated as Conference Carolinas men’s basketball regular season champions and will be the top seed in the 2023 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship.
The Braves, who finished the regular season 26-2 overall and 18-2 in Conference Carolinas action, are currently ranked first in the NCAA Southeast Region and ninth in the NABC national poll and have earned a bid to the tournament semifinals which will take place inside Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday, March 4 at 5:15 p.m.
Emmanuel claimed the No. 2 seed for the second straight season with a 21-7 record overall and a 17-3 mark in league play. The Lions earn the second bye to the semifinals and will play at 7:30 p.m. on March 4.
Barton enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed with a record of 16-11 overall and 14-6 in league play. The Bulldogs will play on Friday, March 3 at 8:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals in Spartanburg. Belmont Abbey, who is the four seed with a 17-11 record overall and 13-7 in conference, will play in the other quarterfinal at 6 p.m.
Chowan, which won a tiebreaker with Converse, is the fifth seed with a record of 14-11, 12-8 in league action. They will host eighth-seeded Mount Olive (11-17, 9-11 CC) and ninth-seeded Lees-McRae (13-15, 9-11 CC) for the first and second rounds on Sunday, Feb. 26 and Monday, Feb. 27. The games will be played at 7 p.m. in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
The Valkyries (14-14, 12-8 CC) earned the No. 6 seed and the right to host the other first and second round site with seventh-seeded Francis Marion (13-13, 10-10 CC) and No. 10 King (7-21, 6-14 CC) squaring off on Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. The winner will face Converse on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
