Conference Carolinas Announces 2023 Atlantic Casualty Women’s Basketball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Belmont Abbey finished the regular season an impressive 22-4 overall and 19-1 in Conference Carolinas play to earn the program’s seventh regular season championship and third in four seasons. 

The top-seeded Crusaders earned a bye to the 2023 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Women’s Championship semifinals at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m. Francis Marion (20-6, 18-2 CC) claimed the No. 2 seed and will earn the second bye to the semifinals on March 4 at 2:45 p.m.

UNC Pembroke finished the season 19-9 overall and 16-4 in league play to claim the No. 3 seed and a bye to the conference quarterfinals in Spartanburg on Friday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. Emmanuel (14-9, 13-6 CC), earned the bid to the other quarterfinal at 11 a.m. as the No. 4 seed.

Chowan earned the fifth seed with a 12-8 conference record, 16-10 overall, and will host eighth seed Barton (8-18, 8-11 CC) and ninth seed King (8-10, 8-12 CC) in the first and second round on Sunday, Feb. 26 and Monday, Feb. 27. The Bulldogs and Tornado will play in the first round at 5 p.m. in Murfreesboro, North Carolina with the winner to face the Hawks on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.

Mount Olive finished the season 14-14 overall and 10-10 in league play to earn the No. 6 seed and the right to host No. 7 Southern Wesleyan (9-19, 9-11 CC) and No. 10 North Greenville (7-19, 7-13 CC). The Warriors will face the Crusaders in the first round in Mount Olive, North Carolina on Sunday. Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. The winner will face the host Trojans on Monday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.
