Mount Olive Picked to Edge UNC Pembroke for 11th Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Title in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. The Conference Carolinas men’s outdoor track & field head coaches picked Mount Olive to win a ninth consecutive and 11th overall conference championship in the 2023 preseason poll released on Thursday. 

The Trojans collected 119 points and nine of 12 first-place votes to edge 2023 conference runner-up UNC Pembroke who received 113 points and the final three first-place nods. North Greenville was picked third with 98 points, while Southern Wesleyan and Belmont Abbey tied for fourth with 83 points.

Emmanuel earned 73 points to take the sixth spot and was followed by Lees-McRae (50), Erskine (48), Barton (45), Converse (37), King (30) and Francis Marion (13).

The 2023 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.
