Mount Olive Picked to Win Ninth Straight Title in Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. Mount Olive was picked to win its ninth consecutive and 11th overall title in program history in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the conference announced on Thursday. 

The Trojans, who successfully defended their indoor title, collected 120 points and 10 of 12 first-place votes in the poll to top UNC Pembroke who was ranked second with 112 points and the remaining two first-place nods. Converse was picked third with 96 points while Southern Wesleyan (95) and Belmont Abbey (71) rounded out the top five.

North Greenville was chosen sixth with 60 points followed by King (52), Lees-McRae (51), Emmanuel (48), Erskine (44), Barton (32) and Francis Marion (11).

The 2023 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.
