Jason Sall and Francisco Pomar of Erskine Named Men’s Volleyball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Jason Sall and Francisco Pomar of Erskine have been selected as the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball for the week ending Feb. 26, 2023.
Sall was tabbed as the Player of the Week, while Pomar collected Specialist of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.
A redshirt junior opposite from New Lenox, Illinois, Sall averaged 4.9 kills and 2.4 digs per set in two wins last week for Erskine. He hit an impressive .417 in the two victories. In Erskine’s four-set home league win over North Greenville, Sall ended his efforts with a double-double with 17 kills and 13 digs. He also had two blocks and an ace. Sall closed out his week by hitting .486 in a four-set road win at Belmont Abbey. He had 22 kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace.
A redshirt junior setter from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Pomar averaged 14.3 assists and 2.3 digs per set in Erskine’s two conference wins. In Erskine’s victory over North Greenville, Pomar dished out 53 assists to go along with nine digs, two blocks and an ace. He closed out his week in the win over Belmont Abbey with 61 assists, nine digs and a block.
