Chelsea Seidewitz of Francis Marion Named Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Chelsea Seidewitz of Francis Marion was selected as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for women’s tennis for the week ending Feb. 5.
A freshman from Fassberg, Germany, Seidewitz helped the Patriots finish 2-1 at the City of Florence Invitational as she went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and won her lone doubles match at No. 1.
In singles play, Seidewitz beat Adriana Torroba of Bluefield State at No. 2 by a 6-3, 6-3 score and led Sofia Cardenas of No. 25 Newberry 6-2, 1-6, 2-0 at No. 3 singles when the match was stopped. She also beat Tamara Macias of Coker 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 at the No. 2 position.
In doubles play, she teamed with Julie Martincova to beat Macias and Sydnee Foster of Coker at No.1 doubles, 6-2, to clinch the 4-1 win.
