UNC Pembroke Selected to Repeat in Women’s Golf Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke was chosen to repeat as women’s golf champions by conference head coaches in the Conference Carolinas women’s golf Preseason Poll released on Wednesday afternoon.
The Braves, led by the reigning Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Year and two other all-conference performers last season, captured 80 points and eight-of-10 first-place votes. Converse was picked second with 68 points and one first-place vote with Belmont Abbey picked third with 60 points and the last first-place nod. Mount Olive was fourth with 57 points while Erskine rounded out the top five with 55 points.
North Greenville was chosen sixth with 45 points followed by Emmanuel (32), King (27), Barton (17) and Chowan (9).
The spring season gets underway on Feb. 13 with the conference championships slated for April 16-18 at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
