Cameron King, Savannah Venters of Limestone Earn NCATA Weekly Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. -  The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) announced its week four awards and Conference Carolinas student-athletes Cameron King and Savannah Venters of Limestone earned the honors.

King earned Athlete of the Week honors while Venters was Specialist of the Week.

King, a sophomore base and tumbler from Peletier, North Carolina, competed in nine heats and the team event during Limestone’s win over No. 8 Converse. Her performance was highlighted by six heats that scored a 9.50 or higher, including a 9.95 in the seven-element acro and open pyramid heats. She also helped LU record a pair of 9.90 scores in the compulsory pyramid and compulsory toss heats. 

Venters, a senior from Winder, Ga., starred in the pyramid event last week as Limestone topped Belmont Abbey. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.95 in the open pyramid and a 9.60 in the inversion pyramid. 

Bri Camp of Belmont Abbey was named Athlete of the Week honorable mention, Erena Chaples of Belmont Abbey earned Specialist of the Week honorable mention and Gracie Grady of Belmont Abbey and Anna Warring of Limestone were honorable mention Freshmen of the Week.
