Three Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Standouts Named D2 CCA All-Region

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three Conference Carolinas men’s basketball standouts have been named Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Men’s Basketball All-Region selections for their efforts in the 2022-23 season.
 
Conference Carolinas had two of the five selections on the first-team with league Player of the Year KJ Jones II of Emmanuel joined on the first team by Michael Brown of Mount Olive. Barton’s Marcus Boykin was a second-team choice.
 
A 6-foot-6 junior guard from Atlanta, Jones enters the 2023 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Southeast Regional leading all of Division II with 26.4 points per game. Jones, who was also named the Tournament MVP in leading Emmanuel to the Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship title, is also averaging 7.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
 
A 5-foot-10 senior guard from Winchester, Virginia, Brown averaged 23.2 points, 6.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game for Mount Olive this season. Brown statistically had one of the best seasons in Mount Olive history after shattering the single-season points and assists records this season.
 
A 6-foot-1 sophomore guard from Clinton, North Carolina, Boykin averaged 21.6 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He also collected 48 steals over the course of the 2022-23 season. Boykin is already in the top-10 in scoring in Barton NCAA Division II men’s basketball history.
 
Athletic communication professionals from NCAA Division II Southeast Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.
