Matteo Miselli of Belmont Abbey and Jorge Riesgo of North Greenville Named Men’s Volleyball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Matteo Miselli of Belmont Abbey and Jorge Riesgo of North Greenville have been chosen as the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball for the week ending March 26, 2023.
Miselli was tabbed as the Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Riesgo garnered Specialist of the Week honors.
A senior outside hitter from Reggio Emilia in Italy, Miselli averaged 4.46 kills per set while hitting .306 in three Belmont Abbey wins last week. Miselli topped 20 kills twice on the week, while also registering three aces and three blocks. He is second in Conference Carolinas this season in kills per game at 4.11.
A junior setter from Charleston, South Carolina, Riesgo averaged 11.5 assists per set in three matches last week for North Greenville. He picked up a Conference Carolinas season single-match second-best 62 assists in a five-set match in a win over Barton. Riesgo also had 18 digs and five blocks on the week. He collected three aces. Riesgo leads Conference Carolinas with 10.2 assists per set.
