2023 Baseball Developmental Championship Preview
GREENVILLE, S.C.– The 2023 Conference Carolinas Baseball Developmental Championship will take place on Monday, April 3 and Monday, April 17 on the campuses of Belmont Abbey, Erskine and Francis Marion.
The event, which is a unique championship opportunity for developmental teams within Conference Carolinas, will consist of a preliminary round at Belmont Abbey and Erskine on April 3 with the championship slated for April 17 at Francis Marion.
The Belmont Abbey bracket will feature a four-team, single-elimination bracket on April 3 with Belmont Abbey hosting Francis Marion at Abbey Yard in Belmont, North Carolina at 10 a.m. followed by Chowan against Barton at 12:45 p.m. The two losing teams will play at 3:30 p.m. with the winners playing at 6:15 p.m. for the right to advance to the championship.
The Erskine bracket will be played at Grier Field in Due West, South Carolina and will feature a round-robin bracket with the Flying Fleet, Emmanuel and King. Erskine will face Emmanuel in the first game on April 3 at 10 a.m. with Emmanuel and King scheduled for game two at 1 p.m. and King and Erskine in the third contest at 4 p.m.
The winner of each bracket will advance to Florence, South Carolina to play in the championship on Monday, April 17 at 6 p.m. inside Sparrow Stadium at the Griffin Athletic Complex on the campus of Francis Marion.

Earlier this year Conference Carolinas held developmental championships in men’s and women’s soccer and men’s basketball. The developmental teams are composed of student-athletes that have either not competed at the varsity level in 2022-23 or have competed sparingly at the varsity level by the time of the championship.
