Lander Duo Named NWCA “-Of-The-Year” Finalists
MANHEIM, Pa.- The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the NCAA Division II Rookie and Wrestler of the Year finalists for the 2022-23 season, as voted by the coaches of NCAA Division II and Conference Carolinas had one finalist on each list.
Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year David Hunsberger is a finalist for Rookie of the Year for Super Region 2 while first-team All-Conference honoree at 184-pounds, Logan Hall, is the Super Region 2 finalist for Wrestler of the Year.
A true freshman from Duncan, South Carolina, Hunsberger finished fourth at the NCAA Division II National Championship with a record of 29-5 at 165-pounds. He was also the Super Region 2 Champion. He was also named The Open Mat NCAA Division II Freshman of the Year.
Hall, a graduate student from South Euclid, Ohio, closed out the season as the National Runner-up at 184 pounds at the NCAA Division II National Championship in his second trip to the tournament. He posted a season record of 31-4 after being the Super Region 2 Champion.
