South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Wrestling Student-Athletes to Compete at NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships begin on Friday, March 10 at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and South Atlantic Conference Carolinas is sending 30 student-athletes to compete across 10 weight classes.
The SAC Conference Carolinas partnership has seven seeded wrestlers in the event, led by Zeth Brower of Lander who is the top seed at 141 pounds with a record of 27-0. James Joplin, at 16-2, is the No. 3 seed at 125 pounds and teammate Elijah Lusk is the fourth seed at 133 pounds with a record of 25-5. Another Bearcat, David Hunsberger, is ranked fourth at 165 pounds with a record of 26-3 while Logan Hall will represent Lander as the four seed at 184 pounds. Hall is 28-3 on the year. Anthony Yacovetti is the sixth Lander wrestler to be ranked as he is No. 6 at 197 pounds with a 22-4 record while Juan Edmond-Holmes, also from Lander, rounds out the ranked wrestlers as the No. 8 seed at 285 pounds where he is 15-3 this season.
The preliminary and first round gets underway at 11 a.m. on March 10 with the quarterfinals and first- and second-round consolation matches taking place at 5 p.m. The semifinals and wrestler-backs for third-, fifth-, and seventh-place will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 11 with the championship finals set for 7 p.m.
