Hailey Obenchain of Converse Selected Women's Lacrosse Freshman of the Month for February
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Hailey Obenchain of Converse has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's lacrosse for February.
A native of Newburgh, Indiana, Obenchain led the Valkyries to a 2-2 start this season as she tallied 19 points on six goals and 13 assists. She also had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Playing attack for Converse, Obenchain netted five of her six goals of the month in a 12-10 home victory of Davis & Elkins on Feb. 26. One of her five goals was the game-winner. In a 17-15 win over Montreat on Feb. 22 she added one goal and dished out five assists. Obenchain currently has 23 points this season on eight goals and 15 assists.
