Marek Chlup of North Greenville and Connor Patterson of Barton Selected Baseball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Marek Chlup of North Greenville and Connor Patterson of Barton have been named the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas baseball for the week ending April 9, 2023.
Chlup was tabbed as the Player of the Week, while Patterson picked up Pitcher of the Week honors.
A senior outfielder from Cesky Dub in the Czech Republic, Chlup finished North Greenville's five games last week hitting .588 (10-for-17) with 12 RBIs and six runs scored. Chlup slugged 1.176 on the week and had an on-base percentage of .636. In addition, Chlup had five extra-base hits on two home runs, two doubles and one triple. Chlup three multi-hit games in the five games and also record three or more RBIs in a game in three of the five contests.
Barton junior Connor Patterson pitched seven shutout innings to go along with 10 strikeouts in the Bulldogs' 13-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan last Thursday at Nixon Field. The left-handed pitcher from Randleman, North Carolina allowed only three hits in the game and held Southern Wesleyan to just a .130 batting average.
