Limestone and Coker to Meet in 2023 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship Final

GREENWOOD, S.C. - Top-seeded Limestone and third-seeded Coker will meet in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship team final at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 16 at Horne Arena on the campus of Lander University.
In the first semifinal, top-seeded and nationally eighth-ranked Limestone advanced to its second straight championship meet with a 265.435-258.910 victory over fourth-seeded Converse. The first semifinal opened with Limestone taking a narrow 37.025-36.275 lead after compulsory. The two teams would remain close going into halftime with Limestone still leading 93.625-90.150. In the toss, Converse was able to get a little closer, but after a thrilling tumbling event between the two teams, Limestone held a 174.375-169.850 advantage entering the team event.
In the team event, Limestone (10-0) secured a slight 91.060-89.060 advantage that propelled them to the overall victory over Converse (6-4).
Third-seeded Coker (7-2) advanced to its first-ever championship meet with a thrilling 263.425-262.845 victory over second-seeded and nationally 10th-ranked Belmont Abbey (8-3) in the second semifinal.
The two teams were extremely close during the opening events, but Coker took its first lead of the day after the toss event at 120.975-120.825. Belmont Abbey would take the lead back after tumbling, but a 91.200-89.570 victory in the team event allowed Coker to emerge with the narrow win.
In addition to the team championship, Conference Carolinas will also host the individual event finals at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 16.
