South Atlantic Conference Carolinas has 34 Student-Athletes, Lincoln Memorial Named 2023 NWCA Scholar All-America
MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released the NCAA Division II Scholar All-America teams and individuals last week and 34 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized.
Along with the individual recognition, the NWCA recognized the Top 20 Scholar All-America Teams and Lincoln Memorial was No. 17 with a team GPA of 3.188.
In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and a 3.0 for those who were All-Americans at the 2023 Nationals. Wrestlers must have competed in four dates of competition.
Eight league programs had at least one individual Scholar All-Americans led by Lander and Newberry each with eight. Mount Olive had six honored while UNC Pembroke had four and Emmanuel and Coker each had three honorees. King and Limestone each had one student-athlete earn the honor.
