Conference Carolinas Unveils 2023 Men's Volleyball All-Conference Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Conference Carolinas officially unveiled its 2023 men’s volleyball all-conference honors ahead of the Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship semifinals on Friday, April 18, at the Student Center Complex on the campus of King University.

The all-conference awards were chosen by the league’s head coaches. 

Kacper Rybarczyk of Erskine was selected as the Conference Carolinas men's volleyball Offensive Player of the Year. In helping to lead Erskine to the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, Rybarczyk averaged a conference second-best 4.42 points per set in league play while also hitting .348. He averaged 3.81 kills per set in conference matches. The junior outside hitter from Warsaw, Poland was also among the top-10 in the conference in aces per set at 0.28.

Trevor Treser of Mount Olive was tabbed as the Conference Carolinas men's volleyball Defensive Player of the Year after leading all in league matches with 2.86 digs per set. The senior libero from Wexford, Pennsylvania was twice named the national Libero of the Week by Off the Block during the 2023 regular season. 

Jackson Lahey of Mount Olive was named the Freshman of the Year in men's volleyball in Conference Carolinas. A freshman setter from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Lahey averaged 10.65 assists per set in conference matches. He was also in the top-five in league matches in digs per set at 2.00.

First-year head coach Sam Albus of Lees-McRae was selected by his peers as the men's volleyball Coach of the Year. Albus guided Lees-McRae to a three-win improvement in league play during his first year in charge. The Bobcats with an even 7-7 record in league play earned the No. 5 seed in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship.
