Conference Carolinas Releases 2023 Baseball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Reigning NCAA Division II National Champion North Greenville claimed the program's second straight regular-season title and the top seed for the 2023 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship which begins on Wednesday, May 3 at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia, North Carolina. 

The Crusaders earned the program’s fourth regular season title with a 26-4 conference mark while going 44-6 overall. The top-ranked program in the latest NCBWA Top-25 Poll, North Greenville will await the winner of the single elimination play-in game between No. 6 seed Francis Marion (25-23, 16-13 Conference Carolinas) and No. 7 Erskine (29-19, 14-13 CC) on May 3 at 5 p.m. The winner will face the Crusaders on Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m.

Barton earned the No. 2 seed with a 20-10 mark in league play and a 29-18 overall record. The Bulldogs will face the winner of the other single elimination play-in contest featuring No. 5 Belmont Abbey (36-14, 17-13 CC) and No. 8 Emmanuel (25-23, 13-15 CC) who kick-off the tournament on May 3 at 1 p.m. The winner will square off with Barton on May 4 at 3 p.m.

The first game on day two of the tournament, Thursday, May 4, will feature No. 3 UNC Pembroke and No. 4 Mount Olive. The Braves earned the third spot by completing the conference season 19-10 with a 36-13 overall mark while the Trojans were 18-11 in league play and 32-14 overall. 

The modified eight-team bracket features two bracket scenarios that could play out depending on the outcome of game seven in the bracket. Regardless of the outcome though, Friday, May 5 will feature three games at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. with possibly two teams tournaments ending. Saturday, May 6 will also have three games at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Things get interesting on Sunday, May 8, as there could be as many as three teams still alive with games slated for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
