Hailey Obenchain of Converse Selected Women's Lacrosse Freshman of the Month for March
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Hailey Obenchain of Converse has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's lacrosse for March. She also earned the first honor of the year in February.
A native of Newburgh, Indiana, Obenchain led the Valkyries to a 4-3 mark in March as she tallied 32 points on 14 goals and 18 assists. She also had 22 draw controls, nine ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Playing attack for Converse, Obenchain set a single-game school record with eight assists in a 19-8 victory over Shorter on March 18. She also scored three times in the contest for 11 points, which is tied for the second-most in a game in program history. She finished the month with four goals and three assists in a 21-7 win over Erskine on March 28. She currently leads Conference Carolinas in assists with 35 (2.92 per game) and is second in points per game at 4.83 per contest with 58 on the season on 23 goals and 35 assists.
