INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes that will be competing in the regional competition of the 2023 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship and Barton and Tom Bastow of Erskine will represent Conference Carolinas.

The 2023 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional will be contested May 11-13 at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Florida. The regional will be hosted by Nova Southeastern.

Barton will be participating in its 15th NCAA regional, their second straight, after claiming the automatic bid by winning the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship. The Bulldogs have twice won their region, the Atlantic in 2003 and 2004, with a third-place national championship finish in 2004.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year’s head-to-head medal play portion of the championships. In 2023, the Atlantic/East regional will receive three berths, the West/South Central regional will have five berths and the South/Southeast and Midwest/Central regionals will have six berths each. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort.
