Conference Carolinas Unveils 2022-23 Men's Golf All-Conference Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Conference Carolinas released its 2022-23 Men's Golf awards, as selected by the league’s head coaches, on Monday, May 1.
Tom Bastow of Erskine, the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship individual medalist, was named Golfer and Freshman of the Year. In nine tournaments and 27 rounds this season, Bastow averaged 72.37 strokes per round with a low round of 67. A native of Swanage, England, Bastow won one event, had one other top five, one top 10 and three top-20 finishes. At the conference championship he finished as the only player under par at three-under with a 213 (67-71-75).
Derek Hamm of Barton, in his third season at the helm, was named Coach of the Year for the third time after leading the Bulldogs to the program’s third Conference Carolinas Championship title and first since 2009. For the fifth time in six seasons Barton finished in the top two of the conference tournament and placed four individuals on the 2023 All-Tournament team which is awarded to the top 10 finishers at the conference tournament.
