UNC Pembroke Wraps up 2023 at NCAA Division II South Regional

RESULTS | GAINESVILLE, Ga. - After lightning and storms caused the postponement of the second round, the UNC Pembroke women’s golf team wrapped up the 2023 season with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division II South Regional on Wednesday. 

Storms late in the day on Tuesday forced the Braves to complete their second round early Wednesday morning and play a full 18-holes in the afternoon to complete the 54-hole event. UNC Pembroke finished round two with a 329 and posted a 321 in round three for a three-day total of 963 (313-329-321). 

Georgia Page, the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Golfer of the Year, paced the Braves with a 235 (79-78-78) while Amanda Hamrin, the Conference Carolinas individual medalist in 2023, posted a 240 (76-84-80) for the tournament. Samantha DeBusk (78-88-80=246), Toni Blackwell (84-81-83=248) and Elizabeth Ritchie (80-86-85=251) all competed for UNCP. 

Top-ranked Lynn won the regional at Chattahoochee Golf Clubs in Gainesville, Georgia  with an 890 (297-293-300) while Anderson (902), Nova Southeastern (903), Tampa (906) and Limestone (906) each advanced to the national championship to be played at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri, May 16-20. Ana Maria Jimenez Rios of Tampa won the individual title with a one-over-par 217 (74-71-72).
