Barton, Tom Bastow Open Play at NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional
DAVIE, Fla. - Barton, the 2023 Conference Carolinas men’s golf champions, and Tom Bastow of Erskine opened play at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional hosted by Nova Southeastern at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Florida on Thursday afternoon.
The Bulldogs carded an opening round 289 and are in a three-way tie for 15th while Bastow, playing as an individual, carded a 77 and is in a 3-way tie for 96th.
Barton was led by Ryan Jahr and Jack Conklin who are both tied for 25th after finishing round one at 70, one under par. Harrison Wierse carded a 74 while Mitchel Soma added a 75 and Kris Jackson carded a 79.
Shorter leads the tournament with an opening round 272 (-12) which is three shots better than Lynn (275) and four clear of Barry (276) who sits in third. Andrew Riley of Palm Beach Atlantic is the individual leader after he posted a nine-under 62 in round one, three clear of Isaac MacNaughton (65) of Shorter.
Barton will tee off round two at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 12 while Bastow will be in the final group of the day at 1:20 p.m. Live scoring of the event is available here.
