Conference Carolinas Pair Named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American

SPARKS, Md. - USA Lacrosse Magazine named its Division II Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse All-Americans this week and Conference Carolinas had a pair of student-athletes recognized.

Riley D’Andrea of Belmont Abbey was named women’s lacrosse all-american honorable mention while Mark Crawford of Barton earned the same honor on the men’s side.

A senior from Farmingdale, New York, D’Andrea scored 72 goals and dished out 37 assists this season for a league-best 109 points, 5.74 per contest. She also collected 24 ground balls, caused seven turnovers and won two draw controls. She put 77 percent of her 120 shots on goal, scored seven goals in a game twice this season and dished out a season-high seven assists in a win over Lees-McRae this year. A three-time all-conference performer, D’Andrea became just the third Crusader to tally more than 100 points in a season.

A graduate student and midfielder from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, Crawford was a first-team all-conference selection this season after ranking second on the team in goals scored (34), assists (25) and total points (59). Crawford was also named the Most Valuable Player for the Conference Carolinas Championship after leading the Bulldogs to their first-ever league title with a 9-8 victory over North Greenville. A three-time all-league selection, Crawford is the program's all-time leader in assists (102) and total points (214) and ranks second in goals scored with 112.
