Hailey Obenchain of Converse Selected Women's Lacrosse Freshman of the Month for Third Time
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Hailey Obenchain of Converse has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's lacrosse for April. She earned the honor three times this season.
The 2023 Conference Carolinas women’s lacrosse Freshman of the Year and a second-team all-conference selection, Obenchain scored eight times in five games and dished out 18 assists for 26 points on the month. Playing attack for the Valkyries, Obenchain tallied 18 draw controls, caused four turnovers and collected 11 ground balls on the month.
A native of Newburgh, Indiana, Obenchain tallied a month-high eight points in a win over Southern Wesleyan with six assists and two goals. She scored three goals, her most in a game in April, and added four assists in a win over Lees-McRae.
