Channie Jefferson of Mount Olive Repeats as Women's Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Month
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Channie Jefferson of Mount Olive has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's outdoor track and field for April. She also earned the honor in March.
A native of Richmond Virginia, Jefferson recorded three school records, two NCAA provisional standards and a conference record in April.
At the Trojan Relays on April 15, Jefferson ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay as the team set a new conference record, school record and NCAA Division II mark with a blistering pace of 45.83 seconds. The time currently ranks 15th in the NCAA Division II. Additionally, the 4x400m relay posted a time of 3:50.15 with Jefferson serving as the anchor to set a new Mount Olive record. She also delivered the third-best time in Conference Carolinas and an NCAA mark in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.66.
