Conference Carolinas Places 50 on CSC Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams

GREENVILLE, S.C.  - The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

In the At-Large program, nominations are limited to five nominees per gender per institution. The sports that are eligible for nomination include women’s beach volleyball, women’s bowling, women’s crew/rowing, men’s and women’s fencing, women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s rifle, men’s and women’s skiing, men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s water polo and men’s wrestling.

Conference Carolinas had 50 student-athletes named to the All-District teams with 29 women and 21 men on the list. Barton led all eight league programs with 10 honorees, five for each gender while Chowan had nine on the list, five men and four women. Belmont Abbey had seven honorees, four women and three men, while Mount Olive (five women, one man) and UNC Pembroke (four women, two men) each had six honorees. Converse had five women on the list and King had four men and one woman named while Lees-McRae had one male and one female student-athlete on the teams.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 21 (men) and June 22 (women). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed here.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
