Jessica Campbell of King Named NFCA All-American
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The 2023 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America teams were announced on Thursday, May 25 and King outfielder Jessica Campbell earned the honor.
Campbell earned first team D2CCA All-American, All-Conference and NFCA and D2CCA All-Region recognition as she finished third in the league in hitting with a .468 average and a league-best 87 hits. A junior from Graysville, Tennessee, Campbell tallied 11 home runs with eight doubles, five triples and drove in 44 runs. She also scored 68 times for the Tornado. Nationally, Campbell ranked second with a .480 batting average, ninth with 147 total bases, 16th with an average of 1.17 in runs per game. She set single-season King school records in hits, batting average, on-base percentage and runs scored and is second all-time in slugging percentage and total bases.
Earlier this season she tied a school record with a 22-game hitting streak and ended the season on a 16-game hitting streak. Starting a school-record 60 games, Campbell was only held hitless seven times this season. Campbell posted 31 multiple hit games and 12 multiple RBI games and closed the season, going 7-for-10 with two doubles, drove in two and scored twice in three games at NCAA Southeast Regional.
