Conference Carolinas Duo Earn AVCA All-American Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 33rd annual National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball All-American teams earlier this week and Conference Carolinas had two student-athletes earn the honors.
Warren Davis of King and Kacper Rybarczyk of Erskine each earned honorable mention accolades.
Rybarczyk, the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, finished the season hitting .314 with 247 kills in 76 sets for a 3.25 per set average this season. A junior from Warsaw, Poland, Rybarczyk also had 22 aces and 33 blocks this season in helping the Flying Fleet to the No. 2 seed in the Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship.
Davis, the Conference Carolinas tournament Most Outstanding Player, averaged 3.78 kills per set, which was third-most in the conference, with an attack percentage of .277, ranking 12th in the conference. He finished the season having posted double-digit kills in 13 consecutive matches, including 13 kills against No. 9 Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The junior from Mansfield, Texas was instrumental in leading the Tornado to the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship title.
