UNC Pembroke Opens Play at NCAA Division II South Regional

RESULTS | GAINESVILLE, Ga. - UNC Pembroke, the 2023 Conference Carolinas women’s golf champion, carded an opening round 313 and sit eighth at the NCAA Division II South Regional at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia on Monday.

The par 72, 5,922-yard course played to an average score of 78.5 in round one with 89 birdies on the day. UNC Pembroke tallied 45 pars and seven birdies as a team in the first round and were led by Conference Carolinas individual medalist Amanda Hamrin who carded a 76 with 13 pars and a birdie on the afternoon. 

Samantha DeBusk finished two strokes back of her teammate with a 78 while Georgia Page, the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Golfer of the Year, carded an opening round 79. Elizabeth Ritchie carded an opening round 80 while Toni Blackwell rounded out the team scoring with an 84.

Lynn and Anderson are tied atop the tournament leaderboard with a first round 297, three shots better than Tampa (300) and seven shots clear for Limestone (304). Maria Morales of Limestone, Adriana Iribarrenof Lynn and Haruka Muta of Nova Southeastern are tied atop the individual leaderboard with opening round 72s. 

The Braves will take to the course for round two on Tuesday, May 3 off the No. 1 tee beginning at 11 a.m. Live scoring is available here
