UNC Pembroke Pair Named CSC Women’s At-Large Academic All-America®
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The 2022-23 Academic All-America® women’s at-large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom the UNC Pembroke pair of Georgia Page and Amanda Hamrin represented Conference Carolinas.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. In the At-Large program, nominations are limited to five nominees per gender per institution. The sports that are eligible for nomination include women’s beach volleyball, women’s bowling, women’s crew/rowing, men’s and women’s fencing, women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s rifle, men’s and women’s skiing, men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s water polo and men’s wrestling. A redshirt senior from Sydney, Australia, Page was named Conference Carolinas Women’s Golfer of the Year for the second straight season and earned first team Academic All-America® accolades. She finished the season with a team-best 75.1 average with four rounds of par or better and a season-low round of 70. In 11 events she tallied two event wins, four top-5 and five top-10 finishes. In the classroom she maintained a 4.0 undergraduate GPA and a 3.98 graduate GPA in business management and administration.
Hamrin, the 2023 Conference Carolinas individual medalist, finished the season with a 78.1 average with one win and two top-20 finishes in 10 events. She had a season-best low round of 71 at the Bracket Challenge on April 3 and was a second team all-conference selection this season. In the classroom, she graduated with a 4.0 undergraduate and graduate GPA in business management and administration.
The duo helped lead the Braves to a second consecutive Conference Carolinas conference championship and a 12th place finish at the NCAA South Super Regional.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
