Conference Carolinas Places Five on 2023 CSCAA Division II Scholar All-America Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected 714 teams to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2023 semester and five Conference Carolinas teams from three institutions earned the recognition. Teams were selected on the basis of their spring 2023 grade point averages and represent 17,445 student-athletes. 

Barton and Emmanuel men’s and women’s teams both earned the honor while UNC Pembroke’s women’s team was also recognized.

The Emmanuel women’s team posted a 3.66 GPA which was tied for the 10th-best average in NCAA Division II. The Barton women posted a 3.16 GPA while UNC Pembroke posted a 3.21 mark. On the men’s side, Barton had a 3.23 GPA and Emmanuel posted a 3.35 GPA. 

In the overall team rankings, the Pomona-Pitzer women retained their No. 1 ranking from the Fall with the highest team GPA (3.88) this spring. Rounding out the top five are the women from Marshall (3.87, 2nd), the men from Cal-Tech (3.86, 3rd), the men from Pomona-Pitzer (3.85, T-4th), and the women from Catawba (3.85, T-4th).
