Three Programs, 13 Student-Athletes Earn NABC Academic Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the recipients of the 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men’s basketball teams and student-athletes. Conference Carolinas had three programs and 13 student-athletes receive the honor. 

Chowan, North Greenville and Young Harris were three of over 300 programs to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award while the trio had 13 of over 1,800 players with Honors Court honorees. 

Young Harris led the programs with six honorees while North Greenville had five and Chowan had two honored. The full list of Conference Carolinas honorees is below.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men’s basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher while the NABC Honors Count includes junior, senior and graduate student-athletes who finished the 2022-23 academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
