Conference Carolinas Releases 2023-24 Winter Championships Schedule
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The winter championship season for Conference Carolinas will not only be historic with the addition of the inaugural Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship, but it will also feature the return to some of the strongest venues for championships in all of NCAA Division II.
“We feel like our winter championships schedule really gives us a tremendous opportunity to showcase our amazing student-athletes at an elite level,” Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “The addition of the championship in men’s wrestling is one that we are really excited about adding to an already stout championships slate during the winter seasons. We know it’s going to allow us the unique opportunity to continue to further the sport in the region and nationally. If you couple that with the return to spectacular venues in all of our other winter championship sports then you can see why we are so thrilled about that portion of the academic year.”
The winter championship season in Conference Carolinas officially begins on either Saturday, Feb. 17 or Sunday, Feb. 18 with the inaugural Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship. The inaugural championship will be contested on the campus of the East Division champion. The top two teams after the regular season from the East and West divisions will compete for the first-ever Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship title.
Conference Carolinas will return to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for its Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships for the 11
th time in February. The 2024 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships are slated to get underway on Sunday, Feb. 18. The team champions will be determined after a full day of competition on Monday, Feb. 19.
Conference Carolinas is thrilled that it will be returning to the Kingsport Aquatic Center for the fourth straight year for its 2024 Men’s and Women’s Swimming
Championships. The 2024 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee will get underway on Wednesday, Feb. 21 and run through Saturday, Feb. 24. Each day will feature preliminaries and then finals later in the evening with the team champions crowned on the final day of the championships.
The 2024 Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships return to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina for the fourth time in the 2023-24 academic year. The first two rounds (held on campus at the fourth-sixth seeds) of the Basketball Championships will be contested on Sunday, March 3 and Monday, March 4. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The men’s final will feature a 1 p.m. tipoff on March 10, while the women’s final is scheduled for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
The Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Spirit Championships will be held for the third consecutive year, which includes being held in the main arena of Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for the second straight year. The Spirit Championships are scheduled for the morning of Saturday, March 9.
Conference Carolinas, in partnership with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, announced that Liberty Lanes will once again host the Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships in the 2023-24 academic year. The 2024 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships are scheduled for Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24 at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, North Carolina.
