Conference Carolinas Announces SAAC Programming Schedule

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee announced the schedule for 14 virtual development seminars to be held throughout the 2023-24 academic year to benefit student-athletes across all 14 member institutions. 

The first of six seminars in the mental health series programming kicks off on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. ET with a presentation on “Adjusting to Life as a First Time Collegiate Athlete.” The panel will feature four Conference Carolinas student-athletes who will share advice on transitioning to college athletics. The series will also feature presentations on recognizing signs & symptoms of anxiety & depression, healthy eating, coping with comparison and perfectionism, the effects of substances on student-athletes and understanding bullying in sports. The series will conclude in the summer with a Mental Health Symposium with dates and location to be announced.

The professional development series will also feature six seminars beginning in September with a presentation on resume building. The other presentations will be on cover letter and social media presence, financial literacy, life after being a student-athlete, dress for success - interview dress code and the first-ever Conference Carolinas career fair.

The SAAC will also sponsor several community service initiatives throughout the year and hold several conference SAAC meetings.
